I have been running a Creative SB X-Fi SB0460 card for awhile but I upgraded Windows yesterday. Now I can not get the computer to see the sound card. Do I need to turn the upgrade back to what I was running. Or is this card not compatible with Windows 8?

Hello Stephen!
To remind us in installing new Operating System (OS), you need to check all the basic hardware if it will work with the new software that you will install. Otherwise you will fail to complete installing the operating system. 32-Bit and 64-bit compatibility issue is always the cause here. For this hardware you need to check to its manufacturer if they have new update or fix for your driver issue. In the first release of any operating system in the first few months there are lots of complain saying that their devices won’t work. You can download in Microsoft website or to your manufacturer’s website a software that can make your device work with new system. Having the same idea with Windows Xp, this operating system came with Service Packs that will quickly fix software and hardware issues. If this doesn’t fix your hardware issue I suggest you replace your device that will be compatible with your new operating system.

If you are using Creative X-Fi XtremeG SB0460 sound card and it is working fine before until you upgraded your operating system to Microsoft Windows 8, then you simply need to update the driver to make it work again because the existing driver is designed for the previous operating system only. You need a much newer version of the driver that will work on Windows 8.
For Windows 8, download Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series driver released on March 28, 2014. This driver requires Windows 8.1 either 32-bit or 64-bit. For Microsoft Windows 10, you can download one of the following:
For other download for this sound card, go to Creative X-Fi XtremeG Support.
