Couldn’t locate the installed app on my Mac Book Pro

I had recently installed a new software or let’s say application and now I am having a hard time locating where I had installed the software. I tried searching for the files and folders but nothing shows up. I even have tried reinstalling the software on a different location but there is only a empty folder over there including some weird hidden files with dll extension. Please help me this happens with most of the software I install.

  • First of all, scan the computer for malware attacks since virus can also cause this issue.
  • Install the latest updates of the OS and other drivers and software if available.
  • If these steps bring no positive results, then try following these steps to install the apps properly,
  1. Uninstall the apps that cannot be tracked and opened (including the empty folders that have been created).
  2. Go to the Mac App Store.
  3. Log in with the account used to purchase the app.
  4. Go to the Purchases view.
  5. Search for the app and reinstall it by following the instructions.
