I have been using this marvelous laptop of mine since a couples of years and I was fine going with. But all of a sudden before a week or so, when I plugged in my charger then it showed, “Plugged in, not charging” I don’t think that the problem is simple since even I had replaced the power cord and the wire the problem remained the same. Please help me in identifying my problem. Is it a hardware problem or software issue

This message I think appearing in the lower right corner .This can occur when power management setting for battery management corrupted. I am presuming that you have checked battery LED and known good. Follow these steps

1)   Open Device Manager

2)   Expand Battery category

3)   Right click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select uninstall (don’t remove Microsoft AC adaptor driver or any other ACPI compliant driver

4)   On Devise Manager taskbar open or click Scan for Hardware changes. Or select Action-Scan for hardware changes

This will scan your computer for hardware that doesn't’t have the driver installed and will install the driver required to manage the battery power.

Now it should show that battery is charging.
