Hello! It is possible that your computer was still reading or writing on your removable media when your computer was suddenly powered down. You said that your computer was not shut down properly and it resulted to the corruption of your removable media. According to the SanDisk website, it is possible that the files on your memory card or any removable media may be corrupted if the media was removed during reading or writing, subjected to extreme conditions or has been mishandled. This is the reason why before we unplug USB flash drives from our computer’s USB port, we need to wait for the computer to confirm that it is now safe to unplug the device.

There can be some read and write errors for this kind of problems. May be the memory is lost during a process and it cause to corrupt the data from your removable media. To insure that it does not happen next time always use a drive that is compatibility with computer system and has a good quality.
