Computer specs for video editing purposes

I am planning to buy a new computer system with Windows 7 64-bit installed on it. I will be using this for video editing using Photoshop high definition, etc. I know a bit about the system requirements needed for this and I know I need at least 2TB hard disk. I don’t know the rest of it since I am not one of that computer geek who knows everything about computers. Dell recommends their T7500 Tower Workstation for its maximum performance but I really don’t know where will I start and what to buy. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

If you're going to purchase one of the latest systems, then it should at least be able to handle Adobe Photoshop CS5 based on the system requirements posted. Just make sure you're not getting one of those netbooks. For Windows, make sure you have at least a dual core processor. About 2GB of RAM (which should be about standard for all new systems by now). A display which can handle at least 1024 x 768 resolution, a higher one would be much better. You need to get a GPU that supports Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0. You need an optical drive, Quicktime 7.6.2 and a broadband internet connection.
