Hello everyone,

I'm a new Mac user. Recently, I've purchased MacBook 2. 4GHz ,Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB DDR3 memory,  250 GB hard drive.

I want to install Office 2008 lIcensed Mac version, in my new MacBook. I already got Office 2008, Non licensed software in my Mac. I've removed the Non Licensed, Office 2008 from my Mac, (moved it to trash) and then tried to install the licensed version but it doesn't  work.

Anyone  help me to install my Office 2008 Licensed version in my new MacBook. I need the licensed version of Microsoft Office 2008 immediately.

Thanks,

Muneer

Hi Muneer,

I'm using the same Apple MacBook with same configurations. At first when I purchased my Apple MacBook I also had faced exactly the same problem. Let me tell you how I recovered  the problem.

It's very easy and simple.  First thing what you have done wrong is, you just moved  your Non licensed Office 2008 to trash. This is not the right procedure to uninstall your existing software. You have to delete it from Library.

Steps: –
Select Finder from your Dock then select Macintosh HD.  You'll see a folder named Library.
Select Library, you'll see a folder named Application Support.
Select Application Support , you'll see the main folder which you want to uninstall from your mac permanently.
What you have to do, just move the folder into Trash. Select Trash from your Dock and Click EMPTY.
Your Non Licensed  software of Microsoft Office 2008 is permanently deleted.

Now you can easily install your Licensed software in Your MacBook. Moving to Trash any software from your mac is not the only procedure to uninstall the software.  You have to remove it permanently. Your problem was, you only selected the software from Application and then you Moved it to Trash.  Doing this, your software is not permanently deleted, you have to follow the above mentioned instructions.

I told you it's very simple. Hope this will help you. Let me know whether you are able to install your licensed Office 2008, in your Mac or not.

Cheers

Thanks, for the suggestion.

Yes, you're right.  I've to update my software regularly. At the end of my installation of Office 2008 Licensed software, I saw a dialog box appear in my Laptop screen.  It showed, update your software Automatically or Manually, which I'll select for my software update.

HI Muneer,

It's very easy to install Licensed software of Office 2008 in your MacBook.

What you have to do is, delete your non licensed software from your Mac. To delete your Non licensed software permanently, you have to download App Cleaner software. This software is free. Just search for  AppCleaner for mac in Google and then you will be able to download it easily.

After downloading you have to install it. Once it is installed, open it.  You will see a box indicating down arrow which says, Drop Apps Here.

Just go to Finder; then go to Application, you can see a Folder named Microsoft Office 2008. Drag the whole folder and drop it in AppCleane software.  Your Non licensed software will be totally deleted from your MacBook.

Now you can Install your Licensed Software for Office 2008 in your Mac.

Have a nice day.

Sumya
