Lemke Soft Graphic Converter looks like a very good program, designed to edit tiff files mac compatible. But I wondered what is the 3d image format compatible feature, what is a 3d image?

A 3D image is a image where people who made it try to give an illusion of depth so that it looks like an 3D object and not a 2D picture. The image looks like this: To see the effect usually works to just stare at it, or maybe use some red-blue glasses which enable you to see the effect.
