Cannot detect files in external hard drive

I use my external hard drive to store files and movies. When attached to my hdmi player, I can see the titles of the folders and movies, but when I attach the drive to my computer to edit the files, I cannot see the folders. Why does this occur? How can I edit the files?

Cannot detect files in external hard drive

Hi,

There may be a problem with the external hard drive. The drive may be corrupted with Virus. Use an updated version of Antivirus to scan your external drive. Make sure that your Antivirus has successfully completed scanning the drive. Your Antivirus may not be effective to scan your external driver sometimes.

If it is so, format the drive. Take backup before formatting the drive if necessary. Moreover, you must scan your external hard drive before using. External hard drive is too risky for your computer. It usually bears Virus from another source while copying. However, you should be more careful to use external driver.

Cannot detect files in external hard drive

It seems to be a Hardware or software malfunction, So first change your checking pc and try another pc, Don’t format or anything before checking and keep your data safe. Then try a Hard drive checking tool and understood about condition, Then Claim your warranty and recover your data by using a Recovery software like HDD recover pro.
