Dear,

It seems that your phone update process has some error. If mobile phone fails to update perfectly then it may not run. In that case you need to reinstall phone BIOS. For better update process connect you phone with a computer that has internet connection. Phone pc suite also required for update process. Computer saves a backup while you update your phone using computer.

Thank You.

Hi Karrie,

Before updating your phone make sure that you have chosen “Enable USB Debugging” found under Settings> Applications> Development. This makes the throughput from the computer to your device possible. Make sure that your phone is charged to 70% or more since updating may take sometime abrupt shutdown of the device will cause data loss. You have to disable Security tools and Antivirus software both on the device and the computer. All these small details might be forgotten prior to updating.

Hi, Karrie.

In updating your Sony xperia S, you need to switched off your mobile phone before you start connecting to the software that you use to update you phone. You can download the latest software here https://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperia-companion/ . You can download the Sony Update service in order to have no connection interruption or software interruption on updating the product. You must also have these things as prerequisite in order for you to continue:

  1. Internet Connection (Broadband recommended)
  2. USB Cable
  3. Pentium 4 with 2.0GHz clock speed preferably AMD Athlon Series
  4. 500MB Free disk space for the setup
  5. USB 2.0 port
  6. Windows XP (lowest)

After checking the prerequisite, I advice you to go here: http://software.sonymobile.com/emma/install_packs/Update_Service_Setup-2.13.7.201306141231.exe. It is the setup application link that goes with your application in order for you to go and update the mobile phone. A set of instruction will appear on the said application, follow the steps at your ease.
