ATI Catalyst: Install package failure. System or installer problem?

I was installing ATI Catalyst and this message showed. What could be the cause of this failure? Could it be my system or is the installer corrupt?

ATI Catalyst Install Manager

Application Install: install package failure!

Hello Jose,

To resolve that issue, you will need to try resetting ATI Catalyst if you need to remove the side with the power off and cord out, and then you will undo the screw attached to the rear of the case and then remove the card and carefully. After that, you can go ahead and reset it and then reboot and try checking device manager.

Hello Jose_yu,

Have you checked the Device Manager whether the VGA card is detected or not?

First go to Control Panel then Device Manager.

Then under Display Adapters check whether your VGA card is listed.

If not try removing the card from the motherboard and plugging it as mentioned in the previous answer.

If the Device is listed under the Display adapters section there may be a corruption in your ATI catalyst setup file. Try downloading it again and installing. Also before installing right click on the setup file and click "Run as Administrator".
