ISO 9001:2000/08 has a separate clause for design and development. To certify for ISO 9001, how many clause (except the clause for Design and Development) shall be applicable for a firm which mainly deals in Software Development ?

Hi Jigarraval, To certify for ISO 9001, a product and or a firm should provide high quality standards that meets the requirements. Talking about clauses for Software Development, it is relevant that software enthusiast should demand for global quality products. This ensure that the manufacturers and organizations should make the rules and procedures to create self-improvement that meet international market place's standards. It is understandable today that ISO 9001 are being adopted nationwide on a country-to-country as their basis of reference to identify which is better and not when talking about quality of products. These should be answered to give us insight as why ISO 9001 is important to impose clauses applicable to Software Development. Is ISO 9001 relevant to software? How does ISO 9001 apply to software? Scope of ISO 9001 Relevance of ISO 9000-3 Questions like these will let us understand the boundaries of standards acceptable to the market that will provide us basis and how many clause a firm needs to deal with, to let ISO 9001 managers know that they need to take action to this query. As to how many clauses needed? I have no clue.
