Windows OS
Hi,
First of all, I am not the only user of our desktop. So I cannot really say if there was a change in the configuration settings of our computer. But as for me, I did not change any thing.
Our desktop is operating on Windows Vista. The issue is that, I am seeing desktop.ini files on the desktop. I am afraid to delete it thinking that I may not be able to boot it again or I might ruin our computer. So as of the moment, I didn't do anything on it. What I want to know is how to get rid of it?
Please help me.

Hello everyone,
I have am HP desktop computer running on Windows Vista Service Pack 2. And, I do not know if my computer was attacked by virus or something. But, whenever I delete files inside my recycle bin, meaning I have deleted all of it and it is empty, it shows that there are still files in there.
I have restarted my machine, then right clicked on the empty recycle bin. Then, checked it once again and there were files still in there. Also, I did a complete system scanning and my anti-virus did not find anything. I do not know what is happening. Please enlighten me.
Thanks.

Hello techyv experts!
I have a little problem with regards to the file that I've been created.
Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete New Text Document: The disk is write-protected.
Remove the write-protection or use another disk.
You have seen the error shown above. The error flash on the screen, when i attempted to delete the file that I've been created due to some mistakes.

Hi All,
I am currently doing a clean up on my Windows Vista machine. I know my desktop machine is a bit too old, but a friend told me that it would just need some cleaning to make it respond better. I am planning to do clean up first before defragging.
I already started checking my files. Some files are deleted and for some other files that I want to keep eats a lot of space. I want to have it zipped. But I got an issue doing it. After right clicking the folder to be zipped, I cannot see the option for it. I am not seeing Win zip. Even the Send To Compressed (zipped) Folder option is not listed.
I need assistance please.

Hi All,
I got a minor issue with my desktop computer. It is running on Vista operating system and is on Service Pack 2. I want to alter my hosts file, so that I can have some of the sites inaccessible as well as to put a stop to some of the advertisements, commercial ads to keep on popping up.
Now, after entering all those sites necessary, while I am saving it, there is a pop up that tells me that I do not have permission to do these changes. In short, my access is denied. But, how come it is, when in fact my login is considered to be administrator as well.
I really need help.
Thanks.

Hey there Techyv readers,
I hope you can help me. I am trying to install one of my new downloaded fonts. I got loads of them because;I will need it in one of my typography projects. Unfortunately, after the installation, I accidentally deleted one of the fonts in the fonts’ folder.
It is very easy to download fonts and install them I know. But the problem is, I do not know exactly what font I have deleted.
Call me clumsy, but that was really an accident.
So, if you have got any ideas in mind on how do I get an unknown name font back, please let me know as every fonts matter to me because of my line of work. By the way, my laptop’s running on Vista.
Please send ways to resolve it related to Vista.

Hi,
I have a Toshiba laptop that runs with Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2, 32-Bit Operating System. After a boot up and logging in my computer as the administrator, a pop up appears on my taskbar system tray with an error like this;
"Failed to connect to a windows service"
Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service. This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond.

Hello,
My name is Brian and I would like to know, if there is a way for me to remove or immobilize Windows Sidebar.
Well, I know Sidebar is not doing anything on my program or whatever. It does not hinder me from doing something else. However, I do have a little screen as my laptop is just approximately 12 inches. So imagine that I really have a little screen and it is taking much of my desktop.
I cannot seem to see the option to disable it. I would really be glad if someone can direct me with the step by step procedure in doing it in Vista, if it is possible to immobilize it.
Thank you in advance.
