Can I download runnable virtual machines on my windows box like Ubuntu for example? Can I run that within windows? Is it somewhere out on the net preconfigured?

Whenever I try, I get error messages such as:
The instruction at "0x100073f3" referenced memory at "0x00630052". The memory could not be "read".

The memory addresses are different every time. I have tried uninstalling IE and reinstalling it to no avail.

I have been using Firefox, but it also has begun behaving funkily – taking FOR-freakin-EVER to load, etc.

So I'd like to get IE working again.

I use Windows XP and recently I installed antivirus at the end of installation error message said that Error number 1931 and it said that the system must be updated.

So please anyone tells me what is the problem and how to fix.

I am using new Intrepid 8.10 Ubuntu but in previous days there was a problem that when I right click on my top gnome panel and click on Properties, it brings up the window and an error message. Error message: Error stating file '/tmp/evince-6347': No such file or directory and. So please anyone tell me what is the problem and how to fix.

I have a computer named Compaq Presario sr1000 and it is 7 years old. I have installed windows XP on it. The problem is that I want to install XP service pack3 but when I am trying to install this version of windows that problem are occurring some time any of the files of windows will be missed or sometime the files of the Windows XP service pack 3 was corrupted. Then I have to restore the computer to its first point where the computer started. Can anyone understand this critical situation of my computer then please send me the solution.

My question is that I have windows XP professional edition.  I want to scan my computer to get rid form the error and different other issues but when I want to search the scan disk option of the computer then I cannot access to it where is it. I find every where scan disk option but I cannot find it. Please help me in finding is issue so that can possible the I scan my computer errors and my computer will work properly.

I have windows xp professional service pack 2 from many years but in the past few days I take long time to make login and reach login screen also make check for things that are not exist like floppy drive and also take long time. So please anyone tell me what is the problem and how to fix.    

My laptop shuts down because of low power or run out of power. 

I plug in the charger, turn on my laptop.

Suppose to press ENTER to resume but it is not working.

What I did was to use system restore of windows. Restored it to the date before this happened. 

Right now its working.

My concern is that what is causing this problem?

How do I fix this in case this happens again (without going thru system restore)?

As I do not want to keep on restoring my laptop to the same date.

I'm using Windows 7 ultimate. 

Laptop is Asus X42J series.
