Can I limit Windows 7 x64 to use only one core of one CPU?

I have tried but failed.

Task Manager still shows four columns that were all in use from time to time, and Device Manager still showed all the 4 cores.

BIOS does not have any option.

Whenever I update my Windows 7, all of my saved E-mails and stored folder data are removed. What's happening? (Outlook Express still shows the From, To, Subject, and Date of all previously stored messages as if they were, but selecting a message dated before the update results in a window that says “The message can't be found.” How do I store E-mail so this doesn't happen?

If I have no Activation Code, how can I activate the Windows program?

It stops all my working and I am unable to solve this.

I have recently installed Windows Media Player in Windows 7 OS and I want to listen to some music. It works properly one day but after that I am facing problem that it plays sound just 5 to 10 second and then stops working. Does anyone understand this problem? Help me!

I want to change the Start-up sound but I see that it only has a box that says, “Play Windows Start-up sound.” I am using Windows Premium. How exactly do you change the Windows Vista Start-up sound?

I was installing Windows Vista Business Edition on my laptop. I had to do it via USB port as there is no DVD drive in my laptop. But when I clicked the ‘Activate Windows Link, a message popped up reading ‘The key is invalid for activation’. After that I was given a choice to change the key or purchase another one. As I tried later with the same key I used before the failure message appeared again reading ‘Error Code 0xc004e003’ (Please check the attachment for details).” Do I need to buy another key or I have some other way to solve the problem. Your help will save me from a lot of trouble.

On bootup, I am, on a regular basis getting the following error on my laptop LENOVO T61 ThinkPad. I am able to reboot once or twice to get it to boot into windows.

My worry is at some point I won't be able to get around the error: ERROR 2100: HDD0 (Hard disk drive) initialization error(3) Press to continue.

I have just had some automatic updates run on my pc, when this was processing an error message was produced and at the end the following was displayed 'Some Updates could not be installed.

Not in Office as home based – Booted laptop (Lenovo T61), started beeping and came up with message error 0210:stuck key 17 press F1, couldn't press F1, escape got me in, and some of the keys don't work when typed in notepad.

Managed to attach an external keyboard so can continue to work.
