I’ve been a user of Toshiba Satellite laptop for three years now. Since it has difficulties in its hard drive and I can’t even find any copy of its Windows OS, I’ve changed my laptop back into Linux OS.
I want it to plug into the TV to watch any .avid and drag any files like what I always do when it was still a Windows computer. Now, please help me find any particular Linux’s adopt versions so that I can enjoy every feature that a Linux should have. Thanks for your help.

One day I was searching the web and found either a SuSE or Red Hat site that was saying that you could set up your swap in a RAID fashion. They were talking about a large server with a lot of disk drives, and you could put a swap partition on many of them, and set all these swap partitions to the same priority. This way they would work more like they were in a RAID setup, and the speed of swap writing and reading from the disks would be improved.

I'm (re)installing Ubuntu on my Toshiba NB100 netbook (Intel Atom, 120GB HD, 2GB RAM). Already have a partition I call "Stuff" with all my media and docs. Will be deleting the one I had Win7 on (making it the swap), and then there is a recovery one.
How big a swap partition should I create?
