How will I run hard drive corruption to scan on XP?

When I did update to my computer such as anti-virus updates and others, the electric power suddenly shut off. After that, the electric power comes back and then I turned my computer immediately. But when my computer opens it just display a blue screen and it says that the hard drive was corrupted and I should scan it.

Or disable my antivirus protection of my computer. I did the instruction that the computer told me to do but nothing happens. How will it help the computer? And how will I do that?

How is checking disk helps a computer?

I'm using a Windows Crystal XP and its checking the disk. Its been running for 4 hours today and it's not finish yet. It's on the 3rd phase and it's taking too long.

Is it safe to just shutdown the computer while checkdisk is running? When I start to run the checkdisk I clicked on the recovery of bad sectors and fix files automatically and the 3rd phase is when it check the free hard drive space.

I am using Filezilla and getting this error "Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server" when I tried to connect to my FTP accounts.

The old version of Filezilla is working perfectly. I really need to get this working because, I am using it for my own domain. I'm planning to create more domains in the future. 

I've tried watching videos on how to do it, but got no success. I really need a very good trick for this one. Is it possible that the Win 7 firewall is blocking the Filezilla server?

Windows Crystal XP problem, how will I fix it?

I installed a Windows Crystal XP 2007 at my Intel Celeron computer last night. When installed it, my computer is doing fine but after 30 minutes of using it, it display a blue screen. Skype is the one I've been using to make internet calls. It really helps me communicating easier to my clients. Yesterday, I got problems logging in to it. I know I am entering the correct Skype name and password. It didn't give me an error and it just goes back to the login screen not displaying any error.

I tried rebooting my pc to see if that could help but it didn't work. My OS is Windows 7 and working fine with Skype until yesterday. For the meantime I am using a different instant messenger program.

UTP Cat 5 problem, how will I solve it?

DE cable problem, how will I fix it?

I'm fixing my own computer, but I think there is an IDE cable problem. My hard drive is connected by the IDE, but the CD drive is connected to the motherboard by an IDE cable. When the IDE cable is connected to the CD drive, it doesn't open, even the status indicator on it light up when the computer is turned on.

I'm a college student and a part time writer for a small community in campus. We use a desktop with Windows 7 installed with office software Microsoft Office 2007 configured in it. Unfortunately there are no printers connected to the desktop since the old one is broken, which is Canon Bubbe Jet 400 if I'm not mistaken, and the we're waiting confirmed approval for the new one, which is HP Officejet F2600 I think.

I have Microsoft Office installed in my new laptop along with Windows XP 32 bit SP3.

I have a problem regarding Microsoft Excel. I can't seem to open Excel properly. Every time I tried to open Excel, there's a message box shows up with a message "Please wait while Microsoft Office configures with Front Page".

I have tried to wait for some time hoping it will finish but no such luck so I click cancel button.
