I have experienced some virus attack on my PC. As I use Windows XP service pack 2 this seems much vulnerable to viruses as I have seen some attacks of Trojan virus, win sality and many other viruses. But I have one question. Are those viruses capable of damaging the Hardware of the computer? If those are not capable then is there any other virus which can do any damage to the hardware?

I am just curious about this thing and i think it can be helpful to take security measures to defend against those viruses as those are much dangerous...

I have my own Laptop in which I use Windows XP operating system. But unfortunately I have no Antivirus program to setup in my Laptop. So I am getting a Message that says that "Your PC might have at risk". Now how can I get rid of this message? And moreover I want to know how can I find a good antivirus for my PC. Can anyone help? I have a Sony notebook, model PCG-FX802P with Windows Service Pack 1 operating system and wanted to upgrade it to Service Pack 2 since it was a bit slower, besides of many other complications. So I loaded Windows XP Service Pack 2 to my computer. The load was successful.

My Network is in trouble. I have a CISCO Router and I'm using CISCO router configuration. I have 3 computers and I'm using 192.24.0.0/24 as my Network. My Problem is when I am trying to ping my computer 3, it says "host is unreachable" "request time out". I am using a 1 MHZ machine with window XP, i tried to download "Download Accelerator Plus"

It started downloading successfully but after downloading 50% the process suddenly stopped with a dialog box that is  "couldn't initialize the initiation , parameter incomplete". please can you help me why it is occurring with my computer as many of my friends using the same machine  the same window but installation working on that but not on my computer.

I have my Acer Aspire 4730z Series and just bought it for the past three months.

I'm having this annoying problem of this CMOS Battery, before it all works fine.

The issue is this, after it is left overnight and turn it on for the first time in the morning, the date will reset back to January 2010.
