Why my PC is not working? Motherboard problem please help!

Hi guys, I have this problem since few months that my PC is not opening and the first time I had this problem when contacted a PC repair person he did clean the motherboard and I saw how he did it. Since then whenever I had this problem what I do is open CPU and then remove the motherboard clean it and place it back to its position then PC works fine and also it will open. But my question is why does it happen and why my PC does not open until I clean the motherboard again. Please tell me what is the problem here in this case.

Katherine,

 

What kind of cleaning do you perform? Do you mean clean the NVRAM on the motherboard by removing the battery (looks like a big coin) for some minutes?

 

Do you mean removing the memories or external cards and then using contact cleaner to clean the slots?

 

This information would be helpful in order to solve the problem.

 

Another reason could be that some capacitors are leakaging some insulation fluid and that is causing  the motherboards from not starting up

Hi, this is very simple issue it happens when you don't keep your system cleaned and dust free the dust goes in there through the CPU and settles there indirectly causing the motherboard to not work which in turn the PC would not start. Always keep your system area clean and dust free make sure you clean it at least twice in a week and cover your system when not in use.This even happens with me

One possible cause is the amount of dust accumulated in the motherboard. When the dust form and accumulate in the different parts of the motherboard and in between tiny electronic components, this causes heat because the airflow inside the CPU tower is getting blocked by the amount of dust in between components.

A CPU tower is sometimes equipped with more than one cooling fans: one for the CPU or the processor cooling fan and the other one for the CPU tower itself. A dusty computer can cause components to fail because of the heat that builds up.

The heat from one small electronic component like an electrolytic capacitor, for example, can be transferred to a nearby component and if both components generate heat, the temperature on one part of the motherboard will rise causing the system to malfunction at times. This reduces the lifespan of hardware components like the processor, the memory, and the power supply.
