Hi, Can anyone help me resolve my problem with AOL?

I always have this error message whenever I run AOL software and it says that the "snmaster.idxdatabase file was lost" and it requested me to restore it.

How do I fix this?

I just get unsuccessful results when I tried to restore using the system default.

Use only Windows System Restore if you have a fresh installation of the software. If it is not a new installation, it might cause problems with your other installed software. This can cripple other applications. It’s as if the applications were not installed even if they are really currently installed.

You may try to check your computer for any possible errors it might have. Use a disk utility application to check your system. If you don’t have one installed on your computer, you can use Windows’ disk check tool.

  1. Right-click drive C then select Properties.
  2. Click Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors then hit Start.

If this doesn’t fix the problem, try uninstalling then reinstalling the application. For a much thorough diagnostics on your system, install a disk utility application like Norton SystemWorks or Norton Utilities 15.0 instead of using Windows’ disk check. If you already lost your software’s installer, you can always download any of AOL’s applications at
