It is possible to run Peazip files on Window-based PC. Peazip is designed as compact software that can be established with both Windows and Linux. To install and uninstall Peazip on Windows, please follow the steps below:

  1. To start an unattended installation, initiate the Windows Installer with /SILENT parameter. Use /VERYSILENT for installation that will run in the background without sending any alerts or notifications to the users.
  2. To re-arrange system integration, go to Options>Settings and then System integration link.
  3. To be able to use scripts in applications, go to documentation (F1).
  4. When installing Peazip, it generates effective entries in SendTo menu that can be merely imitated from one user to another located in C:Documents and Settings(username)SendTo (Windows XP) or C:Users(username)AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsSendTo (Vista/7), supposing drive C is your system's disk.
  5.  When uninstalling Peazip, it reinstate files association with Windows "Compressed Folders" for the supported file types. To manually reinstate file associations with Compressed Folders utility you can run cmd /c assoc .zip=CompressedFolder substituting .zip with any of your desired file extension but should be allied with Compressed Folder utility.
  6. To reinstate file associations with the earlier achiever software, refer to its own documentation. You can have it by running the setup of the application.

Unfortunately not, WinRAR and WinZip don’t support the extension name or file format used by PeaZip which is pea or .pea. If you have some PeaZip files on your computer, just download and install PeaZip Free Archiver. It supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit.

PeaZip is a free, open source file archiver and file manager developed by Giorgio Tani designed for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and BSD. It is basically written in Free Pascal using Lazarus. The letters “PEA” in PeaZip stands for “Pack Encrypt Authenticate”. Here are a few limitations of PeaZip:

  • It doesn’t support adding of files to subfolders in an existing archive. If you try to add files to an existing archive, it will move the files to the root directory.
  • It doesn’t support editing of files inside archive.
