Properly insert sim in Samsung Note

I bought Samsung Note some time back. I changed the sim yesterday, The phone did not detect the sim and when I tried to rearrange the sim so it would perfectly in its small compartment, the tiny copper strip present there, came off ! I found it to be quite delicate. Is this a problem with this set? Has anyone encountered this problem before? What is the correct way of inserting the sim in Smsung Note?

Without the copper strip, the SIM card will not be able to work. You will need to replace the SIM card with a compatible one. 

The Samsung Galaxy Note uses a MicroSD card. 

To see photos of how to replace your MicroSD card, refer to the following guide:

Ensure that the 'lip' of the card is facing outward so that you can easily pull it out. The metal strips should be facing downward.
