Can I say it is okay for my Tablet or smartphone’s battery to exhibit or get a bit heated or hot? A friend of mine is at present using HtC Sense with Android as the mother programming software. She was complaining of the fact that her phone gets heated any time she plugs this particular smartphone to charge. Thank you.

When you will connect charger to your phone then after sometime the battery will be heated a bit. But a bit means a bit. You can still will be able to touch the battery and it will not feel like super heated.

Also, when you will talk from long time on your phone or you are using internet from long time on your phone, then a battery of your phone will be heated. These types of heat are normal.

But if the heat is very high and also in less time of charging the heat is in peak then there is issue with the battery or your phone’s charging circuit. You should go to the service center for the repair of this problem.

This is actually funny for advanced users hearing someone complain about the phone’s battery getting hot when charging the device. But for someone who has really no idea what’s happening, the fact should be thought and understood. The main reason why your phone gets hot when it is being charged is because of electricity flowing to the phone and through the battery.

Electricity produces heat. In any electronics device, when it is turned on, the main power supply is heated as it supplies power to the entire board and other parts because of the circulation of electricity. It is the same with a Smartphone when charging the battery. Because the phone applies electricity to charge the battery, the circulation of electricity in the battery produces heat and that’s why your phone gets hot.

The temperature of the battery will continue to rise for the whole duration of the charge but not to the extent that it will burn the device and will cause fire. When the battery is full, the heat will slowly subside.
