Let's assume you're comparing NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Qualcomm Snapdragon "S4" (to be specific and worth comparing).

No doubt, both System on a Chip (SoC)'s are high-end. But I will go for NVIDIA Tegra 3 to date, I can view this monster as the best quad-core chip SoC compare to Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 but its also a beast in computing and taking its edge to give healthy comparative ratings in different benchmarking.

NVIDIA Tegra 3 uses 4 cores and fifth is for power management for optimizing the use of the cores for various computing (either intensive or scale down) like for gaming or just browsing internet. S4 also has this feature which they called "power smart".

S4 is spitted in 4 classes: Prime, Pro, Plus, Play. Having Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 which is also a quad-core in its other classes makes a lot of noise in computing. Qualcomm S4 uses Adreno as the GPU engine while NVIDIA uses it trademark ULP GeForce in optimizing crispiness, sharpness of the display.

And if you're up to mobile devices, Tegra 3 is incorporated in HTC One X in its International releases which is 1.5 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9, and HTC One X in North America is 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait. HTC One X is in race with Samsung Galaxy S-III which uses Exynos Quad-core.

But definitely, I am just pro with tegra 3 and nothing against Qualcomm for they're good in to what they are. They have best graphics processing units and north and south bridge controllers.

I had used mobile computing for I'm currently hooked in today's competition and likes smartphones. I even have my Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V which running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz Scorpion.

I hope this has helped somehow.
