Inconsistent GPS on my iPhone 3G

Every time I need to use the GPS on my iPhone 3G, I need to do a network reset before it works and the GPS always stops working after about an hour. I’m not sure why the GPS on my iPhone 3G doesn’t work consistently. There was a time when I tried to use it for long hours and I noticed that the problem got even worse. A few months ago, it would occasionally go out and come back on. Now, more often than not, the GPS is off.  Does anyone know the possible causes why it keeps on going out? Are there fixes you know without having to do a network restoration?

Inconsistent GPS on my iPhone 3G

Years ago, there was a review that was made about the iPhone 3G GPS which was conducted by one of the senior directors from iPhone product marketing. They said that the iPhone receiver compared to a real GPS is too small for the network's or department's antenna which means it can only track your location rather than pointing the trail for the right direction, path or way. Since you don't want it restarted every hour to make it work, you can try to install the latest version of iOS using iTunes and try to run GPS again. Well, if the same thing happens, you call always call iPhone technical support and I'm sure they would be able to provide more ways or you could try to upgrade to the latest model of iPhone instead given that the budget allows.
