HTTP 500 Server Error in VDE

Hello all!

After many attempt, CuteFTP had errors–I had to upload "/lists" piecemeal;I think  I have "config.php" right now; I disabled the "magic_quotes" line with "#"–the host runs CGI and NOT Apache)

But I still found HTTP Error 500 Server Error.

After that I got the message about using CHMOD to set permission 644. After spending a long session with my hosting service, I have twitched “web/lists” to make permission that my host can give. I don’t found any change in HTTP Error 500. I have found this message in the hosting service:

“The command chmod doesn't work because our system uses the Virtual Dedicated Environment (VDE) instead of a pure UNIX® system”.

Is it informing that phpList can’t operate in this hosting?

Possible help needed. Thanks.

HTTP 500 Server Error in VDE

Good day!  This error is located at the server itself.  You can check the log files to examine the real cause of the error.  Error 500 is usually associated with the http status code and there are various concerns with these codes.  Such errors occur due to unlicensed server packages or server operating system file corruption.  The best solution is to run diagnostic tests or running system checks.  From there, you will know the root cause of the problem.  You can also contact your vendor for some system fixing.  They are sending patches for system correction due to file corruption.  But you can only do this if your server system package is originally purchased.
