Follow the following steps to add the domain in already existing Forest.

Click on start and select Run

Write Dcpomo in it and press enter.

A new dialogue box open click on Next

On next dialogue box click Next

On new box you find 3 option select Domain controllers to a new domain

Another box select Domain in a new forest

Select Domain tree in existing forest and select on Next

Give the Username and Password

Now enter Domain name and the Parent domain and the Child domain and click on next.

Select the path, and then press next.

Click finish and restart your system.

Note:

If you cannot remember your password you should save it on notepad. Because when you want to remote it, MS request you authorized password.

To setup one single forest to hold multiple domains, all servers must be preconfigured for the network on the same subnet and avoid installing any roles. Begin it by setting up the Root Domain and DNS designation for the second domain but not as a child domain.

  • DCPROMO – for example Coley.local. Restart the system afterwards.
  • Go to DNS Manager. Expand Root Domain then right-click Forward Lookup Zones and then select Primary Zone followed by “All DNS servers running on domain controllers in this domain”.
  • Check “Store zone in Active Directory” and then enter Zone name like for example Coley2.local.
  • Select “Allow only secure dynamic updates” and then click Finish.
  • Right-click on the newly created DNS zone and then select New Delegation. This will give delegation to the other servers. Enter the name of the other server for the Delegated domain.
  • FQDN – for example server2.Coley2.local. After that, enter the IP address of the second server. After this, clicking Next will not resolve because it hasn’t been created yet and this is fine.

Next process is to install Active Directory on server 2. Setup the network adapter to use the DNS on server 1.

The last part is to create domain trust.
