Hi there,

I have this Dell Inspiron laptop which I have hooked to a USB hub to use with an external webcam and multiple USB Flash disks, everytime  I have to restart the laptop due to freezing of the system which occurs when the camera hangs (on Skype Or photoshop) then brings about the blue screen of death, what could be the problem? The USB hub is inserted in eSATA port.

This is a driver issue so you need to restore your system to the system restore checkpoint just before the webcam installation. It could have been better if you had shared the product brand & model also.

  1. Uninstall the webcam software.
  2. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore
How-to-do-system-restore

3.  The system will prompt you to choose the restore-point. Look for the checkpoint when you had installed the webcam software.

4. Now look for the updated compatible drivers for your webcam on it's official website.  Latest drivers are usually compatible, so it may work.
