I recently installed HD PVR 2 on my Windows 8.1. Whenever I launched it, an error was appearing and I cannot start the software. My Windows was on my SSD if this is the reason why the error appears. How can I fix this?

Unfortunately, the program you installed will not run on Microsoft Windows 8.1. The HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition is limited only to Windows XP Service Pack 3, 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Try running it in compatibility mode to Windows 7 or Windows 8. Right-click on the program’s shortcut in your desktop and select Properties.

Select Compatibility tab. Select either Windows 7 or Windows 8 in the Compatibility mode menu and check the option for “Run as administrator” and then click OK. See if this works. If it doesn’t, downgrade your operating system to either Windows 7 or Windows 8 to be able to run it. You can also try installing the HD PVR firmware from HD PVR Application and Windows Driver.

Though the driver officially supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8, some users say that it also works on Windows 8.1. Just try it and see if it works.
