Comet Bird’s preserved bookmarks vanish after network failure

I have the updated versions of Comet Bird and Windows XP instated on my computer. This product allows me to keep these networks up as I use them frequently as well as sustain them for future use. My mistake however was not adding those websites to my favorites list.

Due to an unexpected power loss my computer collapsed. Once the computer was rebooted the start-up system did a software check which produced the result of two damaged documents. One remained on the computer but the other was cut, there were also some other documents that were kept as lost chains but I am unaware of exactly where they are located.

As I reopened the program all my open websites were gone and the main page of the program is the only thing available. I’ve explored some options to getting them back. I may have found a solution with a program that restores collapsed data.

Is there any way that you can help me figure out which documents I should be looking for?

Comet Bird’s preserved bookmarks vanish after network failure

I’m not really sure if you can still recover the lost bookmarks of your CometBird web browser. Not unless you were able to synchronize those bookmark items then you can surely be able to restore them.

But if you didn’t synchronized the web sites in the bookmarks, there’s no assurance of recovering them. Try restoring your computer to its previous state using the System Restore to the time before the power loss happened.

But you can try doing a manual search if CometBird stores backup copies of the bookmarks. In Mozilla Firefox, the backup copies of its bookmarks are stored at C:Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles.

Below are the screenshots of Mozilla Firefox’s bookmark backup folder and its specific location on the system drive. I am also using Windows XP. Try adapting this on your CometBird browser.

If you are using an older version of CometBird, try installing CometBird 11.0. Visit to download this version.

This latest version was only released last April 1, 2012.
