I have downloaded latest penetration testing distribution gnacktrack same as backtrack but i am not able to configure network setting in VMware for this..

I tried creating host-only network connection and by using ethernet connection

In windows XP which i installed in VMware i am able to get connectivity without configuring anything and using nat

But in this i am not able to connect to internet. Is there any packages i have to install to get connectivity?

VMware don't have any guest installation software for my this version. Where can i get these from ?

Also i am having problem accessing shared folder in gnacktrack as i want to use my documents folder in this Linux.

I was using fedora 14 Linux and upgraded my operating system version to fedora 15. After upgrading, I tried to install vlc player using yum, but I got the following errors.

I bought Lenovo Idea Pad before some months and it’s under warranty. I was playing a game named "GTA Vice City” on my laptop. After that whenever I try to use my key Shift + A it's typing a letter in small instead of capital A.

Problem solves automatically when I press ctrl key on my keyboard but again this starts at any time.

I already tried checking if my laptop keys are lost and everything seems Ok but problem still persists. Is there anyway I can use shift key to type capital letters?

Is it the problem of some language settings or something like that? Number lock key on my keypad is also not working as whenever I'm trying to use 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0 key on number pad its showing me different symbols.

I am currently using nokia n73 device to connect to internet using Nokia pc suit using USB cable. I tried using another mobile phone and connected it through usb cable and its working fine.

Whenever i am trying to dial a connection it says Modem is already in use or not configured properly.

My laptop is dell inspiron, i tried contacting them. A repair man came to my house and checked my laptop for the problem. They told me that its not a laptop problem.

Then i searched online to get my issue sorted out and get to know that i am having some configuration problem in my pc..

How to change my configuration to get it properly working ??

Do i have to upgrade my pc suit ?? its working with Nokia 7600.

I am an owner of Nokia 6100 phone, whose firmware version is 5.5, npl-2 Nokia. I am not able to connect my mobile to my server on which I installed redhat Linux 7.0 using Nokia dku-5 cable. My operating system is detecting cable. If I am setting up values of parameters to dku-5, its giving me unsupported connection dku-5. For other cables the software is unable to detect my mobile. I tried gnokii version 0.5 & 0.6, but its not getting connected. I have tried this connection in windows XP which is working fine with my cable. Is there any idea why my server is not detecting this cable for gnokii?. Waiting for reply!

I want to know what are other possible problems about PC restart. I knew few tricks, solutions about PC restart but what if those options don't work out when I encounter the problem? At least I have backup ideas about that problem and when backing up files in Windows XP, where can I find the options?

How about sharing files? How about hiding some folder how can we do that one? This option is hard for me to work out really. Maybe you guys can help me and teach me some ideas about my concerns and you can ask me questions too and I'll be glad to help you.

Is there anyone who could assist me on how to install Red Hat Linux on my laptop. I was trying to do it myself but was not successful. And I am not ready to take risks anymore. So am looking for an expert who is well aware of the Installation of Linux have windows XP installed in my computer whether I can have both the OS together. Will that cause any problem?

I chatted with hp team about installing windows 7 on my laptop, and they said that all the data and recovery partition will get lost by during this. They suggested me to make recovery discs as i am not able to make them right now.

I want step by step tutorial of formatting my computer and installing windows 7 in this.

Also want to create a recovery partition with some more partitions.

I want to create some more partitions to store my songs and pictures on different partitions. Is it possible to create more partitions using some kind of software's to save a recovery partition also and creating more partitions simultaneously?

I don't want to lose my recovery partition.

I have  a web cam attached to my computer, which I need to place out of my room at some distance to watch what is going on outside. Its a USB web cam. So I decided to extend my USB cable by attaching 5 USB cables with each other which I purchased from a store.

My problem is that, it is not detecting my web cam after using 5 cables attached with each other. I am getting installation of drivers but its getting failed due to unrecognized device attached to USB and malfunctioning. One of my friend managed to get it working by placing a USB hub in between the cables. How can I do this ? I really need to extend my USB to get this setup working for me. Any suggestion will be of great help. Thanks in advance.  

My DVD drive is not reading any DVD. I tried to open my computer and clicked on the CD/drive icon and it says please insert any disk into the drive.

Whenever I put the CD into my drive it plays well but whenever I try to play a DVD just light blinks for some time but nothing happens.

I bought a new DVD drive which works well with only CDs I have purchased, but it doesn't recognize CD/DVDs written by me or someone else, I think it is a software problem but does anyone have any advice what can i do or where to start, thanks.

I am using Nero Express to burn a CD in Windows Vista.
