Youtube videos does not play on Sony Ericsson Xperia X8

Hi! Friends,

Bought an Xperia X8, but I was surprised to know that it cannot play youtube videos and even MP4’s.  Every time I attempt to play a video from youtube, the screen would just show me a message saying “Sorry, the video cannot be played”.  I tried to download youtube and re-install it in my phone, but still the same problem persists. 

Is this problem enough reason to say that the phone is defective and needs to be replaced?  Do I need to adjust settings or download any files or components in order for youtube videos to play in my Xperia? If yes, which settings? What files to download?  I hope somebody can help me.

Interesting dear to hear about that,

So the solution would be considering some parameters. You said that your device does not support the MP4 and youtube videos. So dear, first of all Youtube videos are FLV extension videos so you have to check this extension in your reference book of the device that would be compatible with your device or it may not be.

So after checking the reference you will come to know that which format your device supports, after that you have to use some convertor software, I will prefer all video convertor, it will convert all your formats in any form but remember it has some mobile format specifically so you have to use them according to your device compatible formats.

For example if your device supports 3gp format then you have to convert the Youtube video i.e.FLV extension into 3gp mobile compatible version then you can see that video, and in the same way many different formats will be there,

Hello Sam!

Actually Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is compatible to a video with MP4 format just make sure that the VGA of your video is about 640×480 or HVGA is about 480×320. Though your video format is compatible to your Sony Xperia you also need to know if the resolution of your video is also compatible.

I recommend you to download video converter software that can help you to not only change the format of your video but to also customize its resolution that will surely fit for your phone
