Google has released the Youtube Music Key Beta and the Beta invites are being sent to users in the United States and in several European countries. I was told by friend that the invitations are sent only to the Google Music Subscribers. Is it really true that the invitations are sent only to the Google Music Subscribers?
Is YouTube Music Key Beta sent only to Google Music Subscribers?
That’s right, the YouTube Music Key is going to be by invite-only but it is only for the first 6 months and it is only the Google Play Music subscribers and those that are heavy consumers of YouTube music videos that will be getting the priority access. The YouTube Music Key has now gone live in beta in the following countries: United Kingdom, Portugal, United States, Italy, Finland, Ireland, and Spain.
The YouTube Music Key doesn’t require a new app or probably a different URL to access. It only includes extra features to your usual YouTube experience. The objective is to let YouTube act as a jukebox. Once you activate Music Key, when you listen to music licensed under Music Key, you will never see any pre-roll ads.
You can also listen to the music on mobile even when your screen is switched off as well as while using other apps.
