Since two weeks I am unable to connect my dedicated computer to the Internet.  When I go into the network settings, it says everything is working and then I'm connected.  But when I try to launch Google chrome, it says it crashed and cannot connect. I cannot even get an update for Avast Antivirus.

Please help me.

Hi Callyex,

Internet issues are often caused by Internet networking, server to modem to computer. Possible issue is, the Internet server that the Internet Service Provider uses is the main problem. Often also caused by a settings on either the networking device and or the computer's MIS configuration.

Here's the solution:

Sequence power cycle. Turn off everything,  then turn on Modem > Router(if you have a router) > then Computer. If wired, check Cat5 cord if it is properly connected at both ends. Check LAN and check the status, usually it has Red X if the cable is unplugged. If wireless, check SSID in the Wireless Local Area Connection, if the status is connected. If not, need to connect to your SSID/Network name and type the WEP/WPA key and click connect.

These are the fixes for Internet connection issues. This needs further investigation, as this issue is broad and we need to identify the cause. A proper troubleshooting for this is needed with the help of your Internet Service Provider technical support agent.

Hope this gives you tips.
