I have an XBOX 360 and I already opened specific ports on my wireless router to utilize the other features.

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Someone told me to set static IP on the gaming device.

How will I do that?

Thank you all

Before setting up static IP on your Xbox, gather first the IP Settings of your router.

You need the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway of your computer that is online through your own router.

You can obtain on Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and typing cmd on the run window and hitting Enter on your keyboard.

Once a black window is displayed, type ipconfig and hit enter on your keyboard. Look for Local Area Connection or Wireless Network Connection and take note of IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. If your router gives a Default Gateway of 192.168.1.1, then you can assign your Xbox the following sets of numbers:

         IP Address: 192.168.1.25

         Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

         Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Once you have gathered all the information, access the set-up page of your Xbox and assign those numbers. Hit My Xbox, System Settings, Network Settings, click on Router’s Wireless Name, choose Configure Network, Basic Settings, IP Settings, and Manual.

Enter IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.

(Don’t forget to click “Done” once the each sets of number are entered.

Try to test the connection again.
