I can run both 32bit and 64bit on my PC. I have a spare hard drive and it’s having windows7 64bit on it at the moment. I wanted to try windows 8 consumer 32 bit, so I have downloaded the 32bit ISO version and mounted it using an ISO app. When I extracted it there was many files and setup exe. When I run the setup.exe it says. Use the other installation disc that says 64-bit. When you insert it, Windows setup will restart automatically. Anyway I have done this and it worked using the 64bit but just wanted to know why I couldn’t run the 32bit version. Thanks for any info.

Hi and good day to you, i see your post there and i have some opinion to that, maybe the OS can't support 32-bit so that it is referred to 64-bit. because if your ram is 4gb and up you must 64-bit because there other say that 32-bit can’t support 4gb ram and , and for me 64-bit is more better than 32-bit because 32 bit has more limitation than 64-bit. That’s all! Thank you!

Since you have a Windows 7 64 bit currently installed on your system, it is not possible for the Windows to downgrade your computer to a lower bit, which is your Windows 8 32 bit software. Even though the Windows is 8 higher in terms of version, it is lower when it comes to the architectural design of the processor and how it handles information. So since your 64 bit Windows 7 software is already installed in the hard drive, it's already designed and set to function under 64 bit architecture, and cannot be downgraded into a 32 bit architectural design, regardless of the Windows version.
