Can someone help with this problem please? I am unable to start BitComet.

I have tried with reinstalling it but it didn't help. I uninstalled BitComet before reinstalling and that also didn't work either. Thanks in advance.

Hi there Stacy Jemison

There are three ways that you can overcome this problem.

Solution 1 – Installation

1st Rename the file name BitComet.xml to something else

2nd Uninstalling the program

3rd restarting the computer

4th re-installation of the BitComet

Solution 2 – Specification

1st make sure your pc having one of this OS

Operating systems – Windows 7, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Windows XP

2nd make sure the version of the windows, which means 64 bit OS or 32 bit OS because you need to install the compatible version of BitComet in order to overcome this solution.

3rd if you have mistakenly installed the BitComet_x64_setup.exe in your 32 bit OS it should be uninstalled (same as vice versa)

4th Download the compatible version

5th re-install it

Solution 3 – Windows OS

1st even after doing above two step if your problem is not solved you have to check your windows OS.

2nd reboot the device and insert the OS disc and repair or reinstall Windows

3rd after done with reinstallation, install the BitComet

All the Best

Hi,

Since you have already reinstalled it but still receiving the same error with message “Error occur when initializing BitComet”, try to do the following resolve for your problem:

First, rename your BitComet.xml file, this might do the trick. It worked with my computer. Another option to troubleshoot this problem is through repair of your IE.

There are instances when installation of new program corrupts the function of your Internet Explorer so it is better if you repair or reinstall IE to fix problems brought by damaged files or missing registration information. Here’s how to do it –  Start internet explorer. Go to Tools Menu, click Internet Options. Find the Advanced Tab and click Reset.

Hoping that this helped you.
