Hi,

I cannot reactivate Windows 7 ultimate, after hardware problems. I reinstalled on clean hard drive and now it keeps telling me that it is being blocked. Then I contacted Microsoft & they suggested me to follow some steps. I tried what they suggested in the run dialog, but does not work.

Keeps saying:

Error:0XC004F025 Access denied; the requested action requires elevated privileges.

Please help me!

After reinstalling Windows 7 there might be user account files, which were left from the previous installations and they could affect the current accounts. Anyway you need to open the activating process as an administrator by right clicking, ‘Run as Administrator’. The shortcut keys are Ctrl+Shift while opening the form.

  • You can try this solution also. Go to Start ->and type ‘secpol.msc’in the search box and hit enter. Then Navigate to Security settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options ->now Select User Account Control and change the Administrator approval mode to ‘Elevate without prompting’.

If above solutions are unsuccessful refer the site for more details on elevating permissions.
