Why is my cannon scanner freeze on scan?

I have a Cannon scanner N640P, every scan of 4 or more than 5, 300dpi my scanner freezes at the middle of scanning. My computer is in good condition I don’t know what happened with my scanner. I need to restart in order to make a successful scan. I have checked the driver which I have got directly from the cannon download centre and performed reinstallation of the driver. Has anyone have suggestions?

Hello there, I think you are having a hard time about your scanner that freezes in the middle of the document being scanned.

Well, one of the basic techniques in troubleshooting a scanner is to check the cable connections, you will also need to check of missing pins in the port or it maybe a wire is cut, the same option can also be done in the scanners that uses the Universal Serial Bus port.

Another technique which be very helpful and will also solve problems is by using an updated software driver. It will automatically scan all defective device and drivers on your computer and find the suitable  updates that they can install in your computer.

If all of these solution fails, then the problem is the scanner itself. Just consult your manufacturer.
