I have found an installation manual , You need to follow it for proper installation, It is a PDF so i assume you have adf reader if you don't you can download adobe pdf reader, Also you should have a cd with the necessary drivers needed for the installation process, But if you don't i have got this covered, You can download it from here, You should now run the software, Then connect The ScanSnap when prompted to do so.

Just like printer, a scanner has to be installed first on the computer before you can start using it to scan documents. The scanner also has a driver that you need to install on the computer before it can start functioning correctly. Without the driver or the scanner software, the scanner will not work properly on your computer.

Your computer will be able to detect it when you connect it to the USB port but you cannot use it. The driver or the software can always be downloaded from the manufacturer’s website. To download the software for your scanner, go to Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100 and download the driver for your operating system.

For Microsoft Windows, the driver supports Windows XP (32-bit only), Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. For Mac, just check the “Operating System” tab on the download page for application-specific requirements.
