Hello again my friend,

Well, this one is a tough one! This problem can be caused by a lot of things. It can be the hardware or the drivers or the OS installed. Well, lets first start with the basic. Is your monitor plugged in properly? CHECK NOW. If it is plugged in properly let us now start your computer, before the boot screen or the Windows loading screen press F8 and go into safe mode. In your desktop, right click and choose PROPERTIES then go to SETTINGS tab change the screen resolution to the minimum level then try to reboot again. If it still displays the message restart again and go into Safe mode again and go to PROPERTIES and SETTINGS tab again and choose advanced try to look if there is a video card installed, and if it is installed properly, go to ADAPTER tab and look for LIST ALL MODES button and choose a minimum settings. It should look like this:

1024 by 768, true color (32 bit), 70 hertz

Choose the minimum, of the 32 bit options that should be around 60-65 hertz. It should work now, For me I have experienced this and tried everything, I Installed a new OS, because when this problem happened to me I was using a modded XP theme, so I switched to regular XP theme and poof it worked or you can just contact your technician if problem persists. Hope this helps even a little bit.

I experienced the same problem. After I formatted my computer, installed the drivers and rebooted, the message "Out of range" was displayed on the screen. I didn't know what to do and I came here looking for a solution. I found this question and tried the solution. It really worked! I tried resetting the resolution to minimum and when I rebooted, everything was fine again. Thank you techyv.com and the expert who solved the problem. Thank you very much.
