I have been trying to download Limewire for the past few days but I continuously experience a problem. I always get the message “unknown publisher”. It’s really weird because I have had this program installed on my PC before but I lost it after I reformatted and upgraded my computer.

How will I be able to get this program again? What should I do to solve this problem? Any suggestion is welcome.

Make sure there are no installations listed in Add/Remove Programs, make sure all registry references to it are gone, and make sure the folder it was installed in is gone as well. Then try to download and install the newest version of it (link below.) If that doesn't work then you're going to have to try contacting them to get support.

If you are trying to download a song and it just remains at 0% or says 'Needs More Sources', sometimes there is no fix to this and you just have to look for another download of that song. You can TRY to get the song to download by right clicking the current not-downloading song and clicking 'Find More Sources'.

Good luck!

Hi,

You just try to download again and then just simply go to this site: http://www.freelimewiredownload.net/.

After you downloaded the software you just simply check your system if it’s compatible to your PC and then after that you just simply install that to your PC and then after installing the LimeWire just simply restart your PC and then try to scan the application if there an infected viruses or maybe spyware just simply check on that. I suggest that if you open the LimeWire there is possibility that you can in counter a virus because even do you have an anti-virus to your PC the software is not allowing scanning the anti-virus from the software I suggest that you always scan the software manually.

If you want to download LimeWire, unfortunately, you won’t find one because there is no more LimeWire. For a little history, LimeWire is a free P2P or peer-to-peer file sharing client application on Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux operating systems. It utilized the gnutella network including the BitTorrent protocol. It is available in a purchasable “enhanced” version and a free version.

Support for BitTorrent is supported by libtorrent. United States federal court judge Kimba Wood, in October 26, 2010, released an order obliging LimeWire to avoid “the searching, downloading, uploading, file trading and/or file distribution functionality, and/or all functionality” of its program in the case “Arista Records LLC v. Lime Group LLC”.

It was arranged in January 2011 for the trial to begin examining the damages required to reimburse the affected record labels. The outcome of the injunction forced LimeWire to stop distributing the LimeWire software where version 5.5.11 and later have been disabled by means of a backdoor installed by the company.

On the other hand, version 5.5.10 and earlier stay fully functional and there is no way of disabling them unless the user upgrades to any of the later versions. But even if LimeWire stopped and killed the software, it was revived by the makers of WireShare which is known as LimeWire Pirate Edition in the past.

LimeWire was written using the Java programming language and this enables it to run on any operating system that has Java Virtual Machine.
