What is the difference between a Chromebook and laptop?
Windows users don’t like some features of chrome books like:
-
You can’t really store much data on it because it’s developed to store data on Google cloud.
-
You can’t use most of its features without internet.
-
It has android Operating System, so windows users probably don’t like it.
-
Microsoft office suit is not available on it, you can only use online version of MS Office.
It is basically an android tablet with built-in keyboard/mouse pad. So if you are looking for something with larger hard drive, variety of programs you should go for a laptop. If you love to use Google apps most of the time then you can go for chrome book because it's cheap and save you some money.Â

Hi Edward, a Chrome book has basically the same features that you can find in an average laptop or netbook. You can also run Adobe Photoshop. Most of us know that Photoshop is a demanding software application and it runs on Adobe servers, and as such they can be used much more faster, and very soon it will be integrated into Google Drive to fast track your files. If you’re always using word processing, no more worries since Microsoft had integrated what they call Office Online and it’s a Word, Excel & PowerPoint all online. They are also available Via Chrome Web Store. If you want constant communication, Skype is now available on Chrome as well as other Android applications. Another good thing is that you can now work offline in Chrome book. Yes, you can create e-mail messages, edit documents in Google drive and other stuff. Also, you can now download Kindle eBooks , music, videos the list goes on. There are recent developments in technology and you may run now another operating systems alongside your Chrome operating system, so you can avail of two operating systems in one.Â

Hi Edward,
1) Laptop is a portable computer that integrates all the components of an ordinary desktop computer such as keyboard, display, mouse, web camera, etc. are integrated in to a single unit.
2) Chrome book is also like a laptop but it’s a device that is built and optimized especially for web and it run on Google OS not in windows.
3) Chrome book is a specialized notebook features the Chrome OS designed specially by Google for web applications. It provides faster, simpler and more secure interface rather than laptop.
4) Laptops are built to save power and produce less heat. Now laptops are equipped with 3–4 GB of DDR2 RAM and comprises of 13’’ or larger color displays based on CCFL or LED lighting.
5) The main advantage in Chrome book is no need to take backup for our apps, games, photos, music and documents because they are stored in cloud.
Thanks,
Priya

Hello,
How are you? Chrome book is basically an android phone with a keyboard. The laptop is a computer. Any program that runs on Laptop/windows can not be run on chrome book. Hard drive, i.e. capacity of hard drive of chrome book is smaller than a laptop. You can work with chrome book if there is an internet connection. Without internet connection you can not run chrome book. On the other hand, you can run the laptop without any internet connection.
