A brand new desktop or laptop usually configured with the manufacturer’s specification. But a custom desktop means you reconfigured its hardware. It depends on your need. Both laptop and desktop could be customized but in case of laptop once the customized laptop shifted then you cannot customize that. In case of desktop it is much flexible.
You can increase RAM, Graphics power, power system etc, also you can cut the power. Your computers motherboard manufacturer will be give specification and you can change all those things according to that. But in case of laptop you would not be able to increase or cut all this kind of hardware. This is the basic difference between computer and laptop. Custom desktop means its hardware is moderate and brand new means it is company configured.
