Hi there,

I have Asus G75VW which has a very disturbing issue, webcam works fine with internet explorer but it won't work with Firefox , Opera or Google Chrome, I have the latest drivers for a cam and troubleshooting is not getting any problem, what could be the problem? How do I get the webcam to work with all my web browsers?

Hi !

To activate your webcam when you are using Mozzila Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera you need to make some settings and install some Add-Ons.

For Opera you have to go to Settings or Press Alt+P then you go to Websites tab, go to Media Tab ( located last, at the bottom page).

At Microphone tab check Default.

Camera tab – Choose your webcam.

Check "Ask me when a site requires access to my camera and microphone (recommended)", and close the Settings Tab.

For Mozzila Firefox you'll have to install an Add-On. Cam Notifier Add-On. Restart you web browser Mozzila Firefox and your camera will work and will ask for your permission to start.

Google Chrome also uses an Add-On for webcam. Access Google Chrome Web Store and download the Add-On. Restart the browser and the webcam will run only with your permission.

The picture below shows you how to make the settings on the Opera browser:
