I want to scan and fix errors in my windows XP USB drives and software, because last time when using UMAX Astra 2200 USB scanner with windows XP I got an error. Is there any way to USB fix and scan for XP?

If you want to scan your computer’s local drives like the internal hard drive and USB flash drive for errors, try downloading PC Tools Performance Toolkit. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x both 32-bit and 64-bit. Once installed, plug your USB flash drive on the USB port then start PC Tools. Go to “Recovery” tab and click “Repair Drives”.
On the next screen, select the drive you want to check then select “Surface Scan” and check “Perform on reboot”. Next, click “Start” then “Continue”. Close PC Tools then restart the computer. If you want to perform the test without rebooting, don’t check “Perform on reboot”.
If a bad sector was detected on your USB flash drive, just replace it with a new one because fixing it will not solve the problem. The problem will eventually return soon.
