VmfsVolume and the vCenter is connected, an error message appears

Hello,

When I try to use GUI to add a LUN to the existing VmfsVolume and the vCenter is connected, an error message appears. The message says that the host configuration cannot be changed and please find below screenshot for your reference.

Could any expert help me to find a solution please? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there Michael S Fischer,

This sounds like signature issue.

The correct way of connecting is to add the lun to your machine. It will create a signature to the lun that will make lun available to be added to any machine.

Quick and temporary workaround would be to connect directly to your vCenter and not using the GUI.

To permanently fix you should try to remove your virtual machines from the inventory, then add storage, after storage is added add LUN and after all is done chose the option to create a new signature.
