 As my customer is having a XP based industrial machine, he is using folder lock facility to secure the machine backup files. Is it possible to retrieve password of the folder lock for XP if the user forget the same?

There is no help to find a password (or activation key, or a code of any game) lost, forgotten, lost, illegible, or whatnot.
You can be the computer's owner (but good faith is unprovable) and solutions can be used for improper purposes! Therefore
– Cultivate his memory (loss / forgetfulness)
– Ask the password to the administrator (in some cases)
– Avoid in future some manipulation
