Hi there,

When I want to install a small software downloaded from the internet this error told me that something might be wrong. I didn’t try to install it again because I am afraid that might harm my laptop. Can anyone explain me what is this all about? What this error means?

Thanks!

“US- 122 Installer” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk Image.

“US- 122 Installer” is on the disk image “us122_osx_3_4_0 (1).dmg”. Google Chrome downloaded this disk image today at 17:19 from tascam .com.

Cancel Eject Disk Image

DMG files are valid Mac OS X installers when installing apps on a Mac PC. DMG files are disk images that mount on the computer when they are opened. When a DMG file is opened or double-clicked, it can be accessed using the Finder and you can start installing. If the system detects that the DMG file is either damaged or corrupted then maybe it is.

This is normal and happens most of the time when the file is downloaded from websites providing different file downloads. You can always get the original installer if you will visit the official website of the app you are trying to install. Another best way to get the app is from the Mac App Store.

After checking on the website where the file was downloaded, I learned that you are trying to install a discontinued version which is maybe why you cannot install it on your computer. The US-122 package you downloaded has been discontinued and was replaced by US-122MKII. I think the issue with the damaged installer will be fixed if you download US-122MKII for Windows and Mac.

For Windows, it supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. For Mac, it supports Mac OS X 10.5.6 Leopard, 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion, and 10.8 Mountain Lion.
