I'm thinking of upgrading the hard drive on my laptop and I'm currently looking at a Seagate 2.5" 1tb hybrid drive. They say Solid State Hybrid is best for laptop upgrades, but how I do install it on a laptop? Do I have to replace the HD that's currently on or can I just add it in using an enclosure?

Hi,

Replacing your HDD with a Solid State Hybrid Drive is relatively easy. You just have to do the followings:

– Measure or verify the exact size of your current HDD.
– Buy the appropriate SSHD that matches the size of your current HDD.
– Copy all of your old information from your HDD to SSHD. You can do that using a cable which you can buy with the drive.
– Remove the old drive and replace it with your SSHD.

Note that you have to remove your old HDD. So, you can't actually use both the drives internally together.
