Hi there,

Recently I made an update to my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and I have this error about Framework. I have installed the latest version of Framework manually and I still have this error. I did some researches on the Internet and it seems like no one solved this. Is there anyone on Techyv that can help me please?

Thank you!

If you updated your operating system to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 then you should activate first Microsoft .NET Framework when the update is finished. You also need to do this on all your programs because they will remain inactive after the update and if you don’t activate them, they will not work. Activating the programs means reinstalling them one by one.

So, to fix the problem with Microsoft .NET Framework, uninstall it, restart your computer, and then install it back. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, remove Microsoft .NET Framework using the cleanup tool. Download the tool from Microsoft .NET Framework Cleanup Tool and then read the instructions as well to learn how to use it.

After checking on the error message, it seems that you are not using the latest version which is maybe the reason why it is not working on Windows 8.1. To properly have a hold on the installer, download the offline installer of the latest version from Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 [Offline Installer]. This version doesn’t support Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Once downloaded, run the installer and wait for it to finish. Restart your computer to complete the update and see if it works.
